IRD Cameroon trains its local team

The TB-SPEED project is organizing training sessions for the “Impact of systematic early tuberculosis detection using Xpert MTB / RIF in children with severe pneumonia in high tuberculosis – TB-Speed ​​Pneumonia” study.

The training takes place at the Pasteur Center of Cameroon, in Yaounde, from February 27 to March 6, 2019 and involves more than 45 participants including doctors, nurses, and medical analysis technicians from the two sites involved in the implementation of the study including the Mother and Child Center of the Chantal Biya Foundation and the Biyem Assi District Hospital.

The training consists of an introduction to Pediatric Tuberculosis, the procedures of the study and Good Clinical Practice. The training sessions will enable the research site staff to become familiar with the study protocol and the tasks necessary for the smooth running of the study according to the work plan established in the protocol while ensuring compliance with the rules and legal requirements that apply to clinical research.
